Whew! The Nest is Alive!
MAJOR THEMES AND OUTCOMES via Sonoma County Coalition of Hosts
The City Council did not vote on the ordinance in front of them in the end and has not yet set a date for a follow-up. They really listened to the many voices in the room and on Zoom that hosting should be allowed, it’s the problems that should be regulated.
Many spoke of allowing this great economic activity to continue by instead passing legislation that aimed at mitigating noise and nuisance issues before they start.
BE AWARE-WE MUST KEEP OUR VOICES STRONG and TOGETHER
There will be a next round of legislation, and it is up to us to educate our local governments, elected officials, planning departments, local businesses, neighbors, and friends as to how to craft legislation that is a win-win and not regulations that pit neighbors against each other.
A healthy economy and excellent regulation can work hand in hand.
STAY TUNED FOR AN IN-PERSON MEETING
It is very clear that the Board of Supervisors of Sonoma County, and many of the towns and cities, are still looking to limit or eliminate our right to host STR’s.
This past meeting is an example of what can happen when we all work together to educate and inform.
Be sure to check in here for upcoming important events, county and city meetings, and virtual meetups that affect our community.
